Mr. William Young serves as the Deputy Chief of the HQ ACC/A5/8R Personnel Recovery (PR) Weapon System Division. He is responsible for modernizing, testing, and sustaining the current inventory trade-offs in cost, schedule, and performance to ensure warfighter requirements are translated into operational capabilities.
As a retired Air Force Lt Colonel, he was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, MO in 1988. He earned his Air Battle manager (ABM) wings at Tinker AFB OK in 1989. His broad aviation career includes over 4100 flying hours, 1718 were in combat or combat support. As an Air Battle Manager and Naval Flight Officer, he has flown on E-3 A/B/C, E-2C O/II and E-8C aircraft.
Mr. Young moved to York County, VA in 2009 and he is married to the former Linda E. Collins of New Orleans, LA. They have three children: William (15), Lauren (13), and Kristina (11).
Singlehand Regatta, August 26th
Our Singlehand Race occurred August 26th. We had 6 boats out for the race. Dan Smoker on “Smoke” won 1st place, Tom Feldhaus on “E Z Daze” was 2nd, and Sasan Armand on “Highlander” was 3rd, followed by Dave Crossett’s Trimaran “Flipper”and Mike Webb on “Incision”. Jim Blotter on “Windswept” withdrew due to equipment failure. Our thanks to the race committee Jan and Donna Briede on “Beagle”.

Troy has a passion for water and boating that started at an early age. He grew up in York County and is the son of Bill & Faye Waller. He graduated from East Carolina University and got a Master’s Degree from ODU. He lives in Seaford and has been involved in Sports Management for the Norfolk Tides. He loves boating, fishing and all kinds of sports. He has assisted the Atlantic Coast Conference in working various sports championships. Troy has been a boat owner since he was 14 years old and looks forward to sharing his passion with the Seaford Yacht Club.

Becky and Stephen Riley have been married for over 25 years. They are originally from Northern New York where they met at Siena College. Following graduation they married and began a military life together, living all over the country and in Germany. They have three grown children. Abigail is a youth minister who just returned from a yearlong mission trip to South America. She resides in Chapel Hill, NC and will marry this August. Katie is a chef currently running the culinary program at a youth camp in the San Juan Islands. Jack is a student at the University of New Hampshire and is also a cadet in the Army ROTC program.
Becky and Stephen have owned three boats, both power and sail. They just purchased a Catalina 30 and look forward to sailing the Chesapeake Bay. The past two years they have crewed aboard an O’Day 34, racing out of the Hampton Yacht Club. Stephen grew up on Lake Champlain where he worked at a marina during high school and college. He grew up boating, sailing and fishing. Becky grew up horseback riding and hiking in the Catskill Mountains. Besides sailing, Becky and Stephen enjoy running, biking, golfing, skiing, cooking and gardening.
